4 Budget-Friendly Girlfriend Getaways in Florida

What a time to be a woman! Women are rising in the ranks while crushing it at work and with their families. Let’s be honest, though. The harder you work, the more deserving you are of a VACATION.

We’ve listed four of our locations and why they are great for a weekend getaway with your girls. Each city offers plenty of activities, dining & shopping. The best part? They’re budget-friendly!

While each location has so much to offer, so does each hotel. You can choose to be out exploring the city or plan a night in to indulge in a beauty mask, wine, and Netflix.

Each hotel listed below features an outdoor pool for relaxing as well as a 24-hour fitness center for a group workout. They also all have free Wi-Fi so your girl gang can tag & post all weekend. And we can’t forget to mention free breakfast and coffee served up each morning!

Here’s our list of four places to have an ultimate getaway weekend to treat you and your ladies.

1. Winter Park (Orlando)

We'll keep saying it, there's so much more to Orlando than the theme parks. You can save that weekend for your kids. Treat your girlfriends to a weekend exploring Winter Park, FL. The picturesque town will have you in awe throughout your visit. Walk along Park Avenue where you can pop in and out of shops all day. Start your morning with local favorite Briarpatch. They’ve been serving the folks of Winter Park since 1980 and brunch is always a good idea! There is excellent shopping with local boutiques featuring women's clothing, home décor, and more. Be sure to stop in fashion-forward boutiques like Tuni’s or Sultre. Finish the night with dinner & drinks at top-rated options. We recommend Boca Kitchen serving American cuisine with a farm-to-table concept. Bonus, there’s a speakeasy upstairs if you can figure out the password to enter!

2. Fort Myers

If you've been following us for a while, you know we LOVE our SWFL location. So, Fort Myers Beach is the easiest sell for us. Our beaches are so pristine down here the sand is like powder. Not to mention the sun shines 7 days a week. Mix in some great shopping, dining, and a little bit of everything else...Fort Myers is a no-brainer. The beach is great for visitors who want to engage in water activities or relax and collect shells. The most difficult thing will be packing it all into one weekend! Fort Myers is also great for shopping. Consider taking a day trip to Coconut Point Mall, Bell Tower Shops, or Gulf Coast Town Center. End your night with dinner in the River District, located in downtown Fort Myers, with beautifully paved roads that come to life at night. You can't go wrong with the many restaurant and bar options all within walking distance of each other. We recommend Izzy’s for fresh seafood and modern atmosphere.

3. Jacksonville Beach

22 miles of white sand beaches means there are 22 reasons to consider Jax Beach. If you’re sensing a theme for a beach getaway, you got us. What is a weekend in Florida without the beach? Let’s start off with endless activities. If you’re an adventurer, you can rent paddle boards, kayaks, or bikes from local vendors like Beach Life Rentals. Ladies looking for a more relaxed weekend can also rent umbrellas and chairs. Don’t leave without walking the Fishing Pier for great views. One thing Jacksonville doesn’t get enough credit for is its food scene. With its vast landscape (Jacksonville is the largest size city in the US!) there’s bound to be some delicious restaurants. The beaches and nearby neighborhoods are full of amazing dining as well as craft breweries and distilleries. Local eateries by the beach include TacoLu and Salt Life Food Shack for a fun yet relaxed atmosphere. Thirsty? Check out Ruby Beach Brewing only a block from the beach.

4. Jacksonville (…en route to the Bahamas)

Jacksonville is a great port for cruises. Pack your swimsuits and get ready for some fun by boarding one of the Carnival Cruise Lines that leaves from the port for the Bahamas. The 2,054-passenger ship Carnival Elation offers four and five-day cruises to the Bahamas all year long. It’s easy to get to Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Airport offers inbound flights from across the U.S. On the Carnival Elation enjoy two days at sea plus stops in Nassau and Half Moon Cay in the Bahamas. In Nassau swim, stroll and tube through 141 acres of water coasters, pools and sea creatures and rivers. Grab a spot on a catamaran excursion for water adventures or a booze cruise. At Half Moon Cay, enjoy 9 miles of beaches with an interior lagoon with crystal clear waters. It makes all the water adventures more fun as you can see all the sea creatures all the way to the bottom. For adventure gals, book an excursion to swim with stingrays!
