Memphis Best Winter Festivals

Even though temperatures are dropping in Memphis, the fun is heating up. The winter months are a time when Memphis comes alive. The city is home to many hot tourist spots from the historic Graceland to culturally rich locations like the Civil Rights Museum, and music hot spots like Beale Street.

There are also numerous local festivals and events that attract a crowd.

Here are some of our favorites:

Enchanted Forest Festival of Trees
November 23 - December 31, Monday through Saturday

3050 Central Ave, Memphis, TN 38111

The Pink Palace Museum is one of Memphis’ premier attractions. And in November it becomes even more of a destination when the Enchanted Forest Festival of Trees begins. The museum features exhibits and multimedia displays exploring the area’s evolution from the Spanish exploration through the Civil War to present day. The enchanted forest adds to that variety during the holidays. The display is more than a 50-year Memphis tradition and features dozens of trees, animated characters, model trains and holiday decor, the event is the perfect way to start the holiday season off right. Visit their website for hours and more information.

Grilled Cheese Festival
November 10 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
412 N. Cleveland St.

This marks year five for one of Memphis’ yummiest festivals. The Grilled Cheese Festival revolves around the classic namesake sandwich. This competition style festival includes various teams serving up samples of their best grilled cheese. In addition to the cooking competition, the festival features craft beer, a Bloody Mary Bar, arts and crafts vendors, and live music. This pet-friendly event is a fund-raiser to benefit local charities. Visit their website for more information.

Delectable Festival
December 1 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
251 Riverside Dr.

Love dessert? You don’t want to miss Memphis’ Delectable Festival taking place on December 1. The city’s most notable chefs, restaurant owners, bakeries, and mixologists will be on hand in one location serving up their favorite desserts and cocktails. The delicious event is complemented by shopping some of the city’s most unique shops and boutique vendors. One ticket includes 30-dessert samplings, paired cocktails and live entertainment overlooking the Mississippi River.
